ABOUT

ING is a Dutch multinational bank spanning ten countries and four segments. From Youth accounts to Wholesale Banking, they were looking for a complete brand-wide refresh, while retaining just a few elements that made them iconically ING: orange, their logomark, and their legacy wordmark.

Everything else was fair game. What resulted was a rewarding rebrand process that involved creating a custom typeface in collaboration with Monotype, introducing new foundational elements, and providing comprehensive guidelines across retail, out-of-home, events, and digital.

CONCEPT

As a brick-and-mortar bank feeling left behind in a landscape of neo-banks, we wanted to give ING the tools to be more adventurous and less structured. We focused on adding joy, motion, and personality to their existing elements.
